Vessel Database
Vessels, the property of Strandmøllen - leased cylinders, cryo
vessels etc., are circulating freely between different production
sites, store rooms and countries. For the management of these
vessels, we have established a common vessel database, where all
the data which are to be applied to a vessel is present, so that
this information can be attained from a central place and data are
consistent.
The vessel database contains all data of a single item which has
been registered and which shall be used by many different systems
and users at the same time. These data are updated from many
different systems, types of equipment and users. Data are thus not
only the raw vessel data, but also article number, batch number,
content, type of valve and weight. The data of the vessel is saved
centrally, which makes updating and retrieving of data very
easy. Some of these data are static while some are dynamic, i.e.
batch number, article numer, type of valve, etc., which are changed
continuously at different stages in the procedure. On dynamic data
we have performance history.
Overall, there are different data which must be reached or
changed, depending on where in the system you are and that it will
be different users, interfaces and needs for different response
times from the database, depending on whether it is production,
logistics, KSC, etc.
The system comprehends a scanner interface and is
also designed for decentralised function, as a minimum at
places with large production.
In order to create the highest possible level of flexibility and
to ensure a simple and user friendly interface to cover the
different needs, we have developed a web interface for the vessel
database. The web interface also ensures that you do not need to
have a barcode reader or a Dynamics access to draw information from
the system.
The vessel database interfaces to the Batch Control
System, which is also developed by Edora.
