Data Capture and OPC Access
OPC is an industrial standard system by OPC Foundation. It is
used as a common language for industrial systems, when systems from
different producers need to communicate. This means that you can
use OPC to integrate systems which normally runs separately. If you
have a PLC frequency transformer, or a SCADA systme, which is
connected to one of the following networks: EtherNet/IP,
ControlNet, DeviceNet eller RS232, OPC Access can transfer data
from the production system to an Access/SQL database with a few
clicks.
OPC Access combines an SQL Server with
OPC, so that your production equipment is connected
to one or more databases. The actions which can be performed are
everything from datalogging to execution of
programmes or stored procedures on the SQL
server. OPC Access is a sub-component when software and
database are connected to the production equipment, or if you
want to log the data-flow which runs through it in an easy and
fast manner.
OPC Access has been tested in connection with Rockwell
Automation and Siemens.

With OPC Access installed, you can with a few clicks transfer
data from the production system to an Access database.

extra functionality in OPC Access or help with the design and
implementation of an entire system. Should the Microsoft Access
(MSDE) database not be sufficient for your needs, we are also happy
to develop a solution based on other database systems (Microsoft
SQL Server, Oracle, i.e.).
What can OPC Access be used for?
OPC Access is a clever possibility to make your
existing programmes cabable of using real time data from the
production equipment.
If you programmes just have access to the database,
it will continuously be updated with the latest information
from the production equipment. All this without you having to think
about how this communication takes place. OPC Access does this
continually with a minimum of configuration.
In principle, the communication may go both ways
without any problem. We should be happy to demonstrate the many
possibilities to you, as well as add extra functionality where
needed.
