The Batch Control System (BCS) gives you maximum flexibility in
the production process, while at the same time
improving the operational liability.

BCS replaces manually based working procedures and creates
electronic batch journals. It controls and manages the electronic
working procedures and registers production data.

Most likely BCS will shorten your QA approval period from days
to hours, it will improve the quality of your batch documentation,
and it will contribute in the lowering of the 'transfer' time
between different batches.

BKS er fully scalable from stand alone implementation -
controling a single batch unit - to enterprise implementation,
where it controls and documents all the batch units in a large
company.
The Solution
In connection with Strandmøllen's production of medical and
industrial gasses, they needed a piece of software for managing the
production and filling procedures, i.e. for management of the PLC,
but overall for management of the production process as a
whole.
They needed better operational liability, more functionality and
faster response time than what the different standard systems could
offer, and they consequently asked Edora for help to develop a
tailored bacth control system.
First and foremost, BCS is characterised by a high level of
flexibility, for instance in relation to alterations
in the recipes on the basis of which the production of the
individual gasses are taking place, but also i relation to new
processes and changes in the overall production processes.
Changes are versioned and managed by means of the web based user
interface.
The flexibility is ensured by means of a modular design, where a
generic structure makes it possible to design an advanced process
through the logic user interface.
The fast response times are ensured by means of local data
collection, while data at the same time are transferred to a
central database with a possibility of data-mining.
The production process are constructed and managed via a logic
web based user interface, with possibility of advanced management
of rights and configuration of receipt functions.
The system is fully scalable and configurable and is designed
with a view to continuous optimisation and development of new
production processes, recipes and products.
BCS is based on Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and is
further built to cooperate with the database
system, FDB - Flaske Database, which Edora has
also developed for Strandmøllen A/S.
